What type of specific material?

We had to realise everything in a narrow environment with little height so the place to work in was very restricted. In order to rotate the different tanks of approximately 2 tonnes each we used two hoisting beams, one on top and one to tail. In order to place and position the different tanks we also utilized a hoisting beam with a central hoisting point to gain height.

How did we manage to do this then?

We rolled the transformers inside using rails, caterpillars and steel baffles and hoisted them. As soon as the transformers were in place, we jacked them up, removed the rails and made sure they were positioned correctly.

Some explanation

The only way we could take those heavy injection moulding machines up was by means of a plateau. We rolled a machine on the plateau and hoisted the entire contraption to the second floor. Once there, we rolled the machine inside. The area that we had to work in was extremely limited here too.

How did we go about this job?

As usual, we started out with a planning for this project, together with the manufacturers of the metal construction in which the tanks would ultimately be placed. We also hoisted and mounted all tanks, including the decks. Hoisting, assembling and anchoring everything completed the job.

In with the new, out with the old

We also took away the old bending bench and installed the new one. So, first we took care of the transportation of the new bending bench to its final destination. It was only a logical step for us to take the old bending bench back with us.

The assignment was: replace an MRI scanner

We were not done when we got the old MRI scanner safely down. Of course, we also had to place the new scanner in its new location. The same method and tactics were used, but in reverse order. From the ground, hoisted up through a window on the fourth floor, from the platform cranked it up manually and rolled it into place. By the way, it all went off without a hitch.

Using the telescopic handler

We used our telescopic handler to hoist the air group about eight meters into the air. We then got all components ready and assembled them. Finally, we placed them on rubber matting and covered everything with plastic. The next day, all the client had to do was connect everything.

What was involved with the move??

We first disassembled and transported all machines. At the new campus we correctly assembled and installed them again. There were a great many different machines that we moved in this project. There were turning, bending and pulling benches, just to name a few, together with all kinds of technical laboratory instruments.
