The department industrial science of the University of Leuven moved from Ostend to its new building in Bruges. Lifthing ensured the move of heavy machines of the University of Leuven. In this case it concerned a large number of laboratory installations. It was mainly the injection moulding machines that had to be placed on the second floor, which presented an extra challenge.
Some explanation
The only way we could take those heavy injection moulding machines up was by means of a plateau. We rolled a machine on the plateau and hoisted the entire contraption to the second floor. Once there, we rolled the machine inside. The area that we had to work in was extremely limited here too.
